Story behind this picture:
For my photography class, I had an assignment where I had to take a “Candid” shot of someone. I took my friend along with me and we ended up going to Monterey hoping we would find someone doing something stupid along the wharf. After countless failed shots at the wharf, we left and went to the beach. On a bench I saw this old man playing the guitar so me being the ninja that I am, took this shot. I don’t know what compelled my friend to do what she did next but she went up to the man and complimented him on his guitar skills. The man [whose name I don’t remember right now so we’ll just say Bob] thanked her in return and we ended up getting into this whole conversation about his life. Long story short:
Bob met his wife at the beach we were at, and on the afternoon they met, the song that he was playing on the guitar, was playing on the radio. Of course as time went by their love grew, they got married, had kids, happy life. Sadly, Bob’s wife fell ill and was diagnosed with cancer. Bob spent every waking moment he could with her. On her death bed, she told Bob that if he ever felt lonely, to play their song and whereever he was, she would be listening. Yeah, as cliche as it sounds Bob did play the song. Every year on May 2nd, the day that they met, Bob goes to that same beach, and plays their song.
Yeah, Idk why I felt like sharing this now, it kinda just hit me when I was going through my pictures. I remember leaving the beach feeling hopeful that one day I would be able to find someone I can share a song with, to love and hold until I reach an old age. Kinda like Carl and Ellie from “Up”.
This is sooo sweet, awww.
